The UA International Agricultural Programs Office provides scholarships and travel awards for students who participate in study abroad, international internships and faculty-led group study tours. Students must be enrolled in Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences and complete the required scholarship application and Plan of Work form. Students must register for academic credit for these programs. Please review additional information and requirements under "Getting Started."

• Global Studies Program (GSP) Travel Awards
GSP Travel awards are open to both undergraduate and graduate students in Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences. Students who plan to participate in a study abroad or internship program for a semester, a year or a summer term must submit the GSP Travel Award Application (pdf format) to the International Agricultural Programs Office, Global Studies Program, 425 Hotz Hall. The award is used to cover a portion of the cost of the student’s international flight, accommodations and/or in-country transportation. The number of awards available range from 10 to 20. The amount of the award is determined by the type and length of the study program and available funds. Awards range from $250 to $1,000.
• Scholarships
The Richard S. Locke Endowed Scholarship for Study-Abroad is open to undergraduate students in the Bumpers College who plan to study abroad for a semester or year. Students must submit the formal Locke Scholarship Application form (pdf format) to the International Agricultural Programs Office, Global Studies Program, 307 Hotz Hall. Two scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded.
The Wayne E. Sabbe Endowed Scholarship in International Agronomic Study is open to undergraduate (Junior or Senior) and graduate students in the Department of Crop, Soil and Environmental Sciences (CSES). Students must submit the formal CSES Scholarship Application and the International Agricultural Programs GSP Plan of Work form to the Scholarship Committee, Department of Crop, Soil and Environmental Sciences, 111 Plant Sciences Bldg. The selected student(s) will be awarded $250 to $1,000. Contact Dr. Robert Bacon, rbacon@uark.edu.
• Global Study Tour Awards
Global Study Tour Awards are available each year to faculty who lead group study tours for three or more students enrolled in the Bumpers College. Faculty members must complete the Global Study Tour Application, and students must complete the Plan of Work form and forward to the International Agricultural Programs Office, Global Studies Program, 425 Hotz Hall. Awards cover a portion of the student and faculty’s international flight, accommodations or in-country travel. One to two awards from $200 to $500 are available.
