Oct. 2, 2008 -- One in a series

Dietetics students Sarah Douglas and Carolyn Treloar

“My international experience in Scotland was a great opportunity,” said Sarah Douglas, dietetics major from Texarkana. “I was able to travel throughout Scotland, England and Ireland. I experienced new foods, different cultures and gained experienced in my career path.”

Headlines

New master's dual-degree program with European universities
The UA department of agricultural economics and agribusiness is cooperating with the University of Florida and a consortium of six universities in Europe to offer a dual degree program which results in an M.S. degree in agricultural economics and an M.S. degree in rural development.

Study abroad opportunities for graduate students
Graduate students in agriculture, engineering and related sciences who are interested in biorenewables and alternative energy sources have the opportunity to study for one semester at a European university.

Horticulture students complete internships in Scotland
Three UA horticulture students -- John Gardner, Andrew Swayne and Atsuko Akabane -- are completing internships this summer in Scotland.
